Where do things live that are unknown to us? What forms can they take? Is strangeness something to be afraid of? FALTEN is a dance performance, made by adults, seen through the eyes of children. What does it mean to grow up? A piece of paper in a corner can be scary, if it resembles a crocodile for example. But is it really a crocodile? No, it’s just a bicho… and the corner doesn’t belong to a room, but to a distant, alien planet. Adventure stories about meeting the other and their potential are the starting point for the journey to FALTEN’s paper land. A place where creases and folds meet unfinished forms and it is not clear where it is going. Creepiness and curiosity define the bodies of the dancers, whose bodies draw with white paper shapes between harmony and distance. Is there the one, perfect form? Our invitation to you is to let yourself be driven by your and our curiosity. FALTEN is inspired by the work of the brazilian visual artist Lygia Clark and her series of interactive sculptures: bichos.
